ACLASTA® Infusions for Osteoporosis
Prescription-based osteoporosis infusion appointments in St Leonards, Sydney.
Bone & Metabolic Health Clinic is preparing to offer ACLASTA® (zoledronic acid) infusions in a dedicated IV treatment room within Nature Care Health in St Leonards.
Our referral-based service is designed for patients who have been assessed by their endocrinologist or treating doctor and prescribed ACLASTA® for osteoporosis.
What is ACLASTA®?
ACLASTA® (zoledronic acid) is a prescription medication used to treat osteoporosis and reduce the risk of fractures in suitable patients.
It belongs to a group of medicines called bisphosphonates, which help slow the breakdown of bone and preserve bone strength.
For osteoporosis, ACLASTA® is commonly administered as a 5 mg intravenous infusion once a year, depending on your treating doctor's recommendations.
How does ACLASTA® work?
Our bones are constantly being renewed. In people with osteoporosis, bone breakdown can occur faster than new bone formation, resulting in weaker bones and an increased risk of fractures.
ACLASTA® works by reducing excessive bone breakdown, helping maintain bone density and strength.
Your treating doctor may monitor your response through DEXA bone density scans and relevant blood tests.
