About Maryam Berang

Maryam Berang is the founder of Bone & Metabolic Health Clinic and has a strong background in medical science, diagnostic imaging, bone densitometry, and preventative healthcare. She is passionate about helping patients better understand their bone, body composition, and metabolic health through advanced, evidence-based assessments and personalised patient care.

Maryam holds a Bachelor of Science (Human Biology) from Macquarie University and a Graduate Certificate of Science with a focus in molecular biology from University of Southern Queensland. She has also completed specialised clinical training in bone densitometry through the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS/ANZCBMS) and is certified in performing and interpreting DEXA scans in accordance with ANZBMS standards and WHO diagnostic criteria.

With extensive experience across healthcare and diagnostic settings, Maryam has worked in pathology collection, laboratory science, sleep studies, dental radiography, and clinical coordination roles for more than five years. She currently works as a Bone Mineral Density Technician, performing DEXA bone density and body composition assessments, patient positioning, image processing, and clinical reporting.

Maryam also holds an IA27 Radiation Licence, Radiation Management accreditation, First Aid certification, and additional qualifications in pathology collection, dental assisting, dental radiography, and sleep study training. Her clinical approach combines technical precision with compassionate, patient-centred care, with a strong focus on preventative health, healthy ageing, osteoporosis assessment, body composition analysis, and long-term metabolic wellness.
